Today is the tenth of Muharram 1447H also known as ashura when Muslims around the world and beyond celebrate and mourn the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ • (ṣallā llāhu ʕalayhi wa-ʔālihī wa-sallama) (Islam) blessings of God be upon him and his progeny and grant him peace
's grandson Hazrat imam Hussain عليه السلام (alayhi s-salām) "peace be upon him"
And 72 followers at a place karbala in Iraq.
The concept of life and death is very tricky....When a person is born alive he or she has a physical existence...a body of flesh and blood....things that we can touch and feel...a body that can be hurt...cut ...and tortured....it consists of living cells that are sometimes infected and diseased ...sometimes cells die ..the body dies....sometimes cells recover..body recovers...sometimes the body feel pain ...and with proper care and treatment it recovers and that pain is gone . At birth the body and all the organs within are very small...they grow up ...the tiny hands of a newborn becomes big and hard with time....The body has different organs...some perform non stop continuously....like heart..brain ..lungs ...if they stop ...the body stop or die...some organs only perform when they are required or used...like mouth..eyes...hands....
But every living person ...and I am only talking about living person ...not thing....has something which cannot be seen or touched physically...it can be felt and touched..also hurt in some cases spiritually...and That thing is called The Soul.
ثُمَّ سَوَّىٰهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَـٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ ٩
then He fashioned them and had a spirit of His Own ˹creation˺ breathed into them. And He gave you hearing, sight, and intellect. ˹Yet˺ you hardly give any thanks. ( 32:9 )
A soul has many names and attributes....Ruh , Nafs , Spirit
In layman terms ...if body is the device..the hardware... then the soul is the software.
when we die...our soul returns to The creator....The All Mighty Allah Amen 🙏
Collected through the Angel of death....Israel or Azrael...
When the software is removed...the human body is a very useless piece of rubbish ...which rot and stinks..so bad that even your mother won't stand it for a second....some cremate others hang it to be devoured by vultures...but most bury it and move on ....
Now moving on has many stages and phases...
Customs and traditions are usually followed .
Let's exclude all the non Muslims here...
At the funeral when the grave is filled all those present put three handfuls of soil on the closed grave wash their hands and pray for the departed soul.Nobody pray for the buried body or even care.
Food is served to the returning party....a special prayer is kept after a days gap...on the third day it is therefore called Soyem
It is a gathering of family and friends for prayers (Quran recitation) and to offer condolences to the bereaved. A lavish meal is sometimes served during the Soyem.
Some keep holding especial prayers on every Thursday till Arbaeen ...or Chehlum which is held on the fortieth day
In Islamic tradition, a widow's mourning period, known as 'iddah, is four months and ten days. This period is a time of seclusion and reflection, where the widow refrains from beautifying herself and minimizing interactions with potential marriage partners. The duration is the same regardless of the widow's age or whether the marriage was consummated. If the widow is pregnant, the 'iddah extends until she gives birth.
Child born fatherless regrets and mourns all life a person he or she Never met...saw ...or touched...
Tries to learn everything about him . This quest and mourning usually ends when they become parents themselves.
As the year or years passed Mournings are converted into remembrance.....people celebrate the death anniversary regularly year after year for years...some remember the Birthdays.....By the way ...today is 6th July ..my uncle from Florida's birthday..it's been six or seven years since he passed away ...but we still miss him talk about him...May his soul rest in peace Amen 🙏
The most severe and prolonged mourning is usually when you feel indignation about someone's death.... especially when someone close to your heart dies of unnatural causes like someone is killed , murdered or assassinated.
And the culprit is not punished.
Our holy prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ • (ṣallā llāhu ʕalayhi wa-ʔālihī wa-sallama) blessings of God be upon him and his progeny and grant him peace
Loved and respected his first wife Hazrat khatija (razi Allah unho ) very much ....after her..he loved and respected...their daughter Hazrat Fatima ( razi Allah unho)
But if he had a lifelong bonding with someone among his male relatives and companions then it was none other than his younger cousin ...lifelong companion and married to Hazrat Fatima ( razi Allah unho)
The Shah-e-Mardan, Sher-e-Yazdan, Quwwat'e Parwardigaar, La Fatah ila Ali, la Saif ila Zulfiqar!" Translation: "King of the braves, Lion of the Lord, Strength of the God, There is no one like Ali, There is no sword like Zulfiqar."
Nara Hyderi....Ali Wali Wali Wali
No doubt the incident of karbala and the day of Ashura the 10th of Muharram is very significant for Muslims around the world ...living,dead or Shaheed
But for me it's very personal...I hate the kofis...and the yazidis...very much....at this point and time

Thus eliminating All or any chance of me and my Uncle to be born centuries later...

Now the million dollar 💰 question..??
Why do we offer fateha for those who are confirmed in heaven or Paradise?
The basic norm is to spread a table cloth and fill it with best possible food of the liking of the deceased...
Now there are two questions that come to the mind
1. The food has no rooh or soul to cross the threshold....
2. If we are so sure that they are in heaven then we must be sure that they have everything better than what we can possibly offer from here....
I won't reply separately...
وَإِذْ قُلْتُمْ يَـٰمُوسَىٰ لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍۢ وَٰحِدٍۢ فَٱدْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ يُخْرِجْ لَنَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ مِنۢ بَقْلِهَا وَقِثَّآئِهَا وَفُومِهَا وَعَدَسِهَا وَبَصَلِهَا ۖ قَالَ أَتَسْتَبْدِلُونَ ٱلَّذِى هُوَ أَدْنَىٰ بِٱلَّذِى هُوَ خَيْرٌ ۚ ٱهْبِطُوا۟ مِصْرًۭا فَإِنَّ لَكُم مَّا سَأَلْتُمْ ۗ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلذِّلَّةُ وَٱلْمَسْكَنَةُ وَبَآءُو بِغَضَبٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ يَكْفُرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا۟ وَّكَانُوا۟ يَعْتَدُونَ ٦١
And ˹remember˺ when you said, “O Moses! We cannot endure the same meal ˹every day˺. So ˹just˺ call upon your Lord on our behalf, He will bring forth for us some of what the earth produces of herbs, cucumbers, garlic, lentils, and onions.” Moses scolded ˹them˺, “Do you exchange what is better for what is worse? ˹You can˺ go down to any village and you will find what you have asked for.” They were stricken with disgrace and misery, and they invited the displeasure of Allah for rejecting Allah’s signs and unjustly killing the prophets. This is ˹a fair reward˺ for their disobedience and violations. ( 2:61)
Better safe than sorry...

Today i wasn't sure if I can do this my the Sunday Blog № 483 ( Four hundred and eighty Three) because of the backache...
It still hurts...but I can walk and jump...prayed all prayers and had the niaz food ...we had two types of haleem ...the home cooked khichra and takeaway from Allah wala kitchen ...we had daily fateha since 7th Muharram...on milkshake and khichra on the 9th and haleem and kheer ( rice pudding)
The rain that disappeared on last Sunday ....have not returned yet.....there was a slight drizzle giving me the opportunity to enjoy the mangoes...I am still not comfortable with eating the mangoes without the rain...
We had loadshedding this ashura weekend twice on Saturday and once today on Sunday from 3:27 pm to 4 something .....short term memory loss.
Started watching Urdu1 ' s uncensored Turkish series sakla beni in addition to Cop Adam and kuzgun series on the YouTube
