KABUL – Deputy Foreign Minister Karzai headed the Afghan delegation at the U.S. - India- Afghanistan trilateral meeting.
Preceding the Second Kabul Process Meeting, the delegates of the three countries met to share updates and discuss steps forward in the areas of energy cooperation, trade and Economic Cooperation, Institutional Linkages and Refugees.
The US delegation was headed by Ms Alice G. Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs. The Indian Delegation was headed by Joint Secretary Dr. Deepak Mittal.
Deputy Foreign Minister Karzai, at the outset, thanked both countries as important partners appreciating their contribution in the areas important to Afghanistan and the region.
Heads of US and Indian Delegations welcomed and congratulated initiatives taken by Afghanistan in important development areas, reiterating their full support of them.
The three sides shared updates and discussed specific activities towards achieving the set goals.
The meeting will be followed by a technical meeting at director general level in the near future.
